Program Description

COURSE OFFERINGS

HONR 300- Bullying, Mentorship, and Uruguay - 3 credits

*Note: This course is a semester-long honors course offered during the Spring 2018 term with an embedded/required spring-break travel component.

Student Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this program, students will gain:
* An understanding of developmental aspects of mentoring
* Successfully understand a review of bullying and ostracism
* Gain a conceptualization of the impact of SES on development
* Gain an appreciation of another culture and how children are raised and mentored


PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

This program offers honors students to gain a conceptual understanding of bullying and mentorship in Uruguay. The trip itself will include working with the Naval War College as well as working with Lucio Impulso on the development of a mentorship program. Students will live in housing provided by the Naval War College.

-Students will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities:
*A day trip to Pointe Este in Uruguay
*Develop a mentorship program
