What is Included: LANGUAGE COURSE:
A 4-week, 6 credits, French Intensive Language and Culture courses. Teachers in Montpellier utilize different teaching methods so you improve your listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities. Come learn, and have fun!!

ACCOMODATION & HOMESTAY
You will share breakfast and dinner with your host family, which will help you discover and live the French Culture and Lifestyle. This immersion will also help you practice the French language, and you will improve faster.

EXCURSIONS & ACTIVITIES
The school and your family will be in the dynamic city of Montpellier –so you will always have something fun or interesting to do, whether in town or at the beach.
Our discoveries will include some of the most spectacular and famous French sites, for ex.: the Roman Aqueduct Pont du Gard or the French Fortified City of Carcassonne, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
You will also see the amazing Calanques de Cassis!

Program Description

A 4 WEEK, 6 CREDITS, FRENCH INTENSIVE LANGUAGE & CULTURE COURSE, in Montpellier, France.

This program is offered by the Department of Modern
Languages, Literatures & Cultures. Students will enhance their French language
skills through a combination of tailored and intensive
language & culture courses. Students will experience the
French lifestyle while alternating excursions, courses
and time spent with their host family.


PREREQUISITES
Students from any college/university meeting the following qualifications are cordially invited to apply:

- For MAJORS, MINORS, and REQUIREMENT: A grade of C or better in the last French course
completed.
-For ELECTIVE courses: no previous French class needed.
Also, this year, we will also accept students for the 101 level if they take it to complete an Elective course (not a requirement).

- GPA of at least 2.0

- Interview with the program director (by telephone if needed) and regular
attendance at meetings.


Dates:

Students need to arrive in Montpellier on May 29th in order to start classes on May 30th. Students are responsible for their own flight arrangements.

How to get to Montpellier:
You should fly directly to Montpellier, France.
You may also fly to Paris and board the train, which can be taken directly from the Paris airport to Montpellier (railway station: Montpellier Saint Roch). Travel time Paris-Montpellier on the TGV (“High-Speed Train”) is about four hours .

Accommodations:

To enhance their immersion experience in France, students will be housed with a French-speaking host family in Montpellier. Within a couple of weeks before their departure from the United States, students must contact their host family so that they can be picked up at the airport or train station in Montpellier. Students must make their own way to Montpellier (see above). Host family members CANNOT meet them in Paris.
