Program Description

ACADEMIC OVERVIEW
Join us as we study criminal justice in Mexico City and
Guanajuato, Mexico! This program will expose you to
competing opinions from leading experts, government
officials, and business owners on a variety of topics,
including security and immigration. You will interview
leading analysts, experts and government officials in
their areas of expertise. The interviews usually take place
in an intimate setting, often the interviewee’s office.
When appropriate, you might incorporate information
gained from interviews into your final research paper
due at the end of the course. You will also visit cultural
sites, museums, and beautiful Guanajuato. Earn three
CRMJ credits during this two week program!

ABOUT THE CITY
The CIEE Study Center at the Universidad de Guanajuato
is located in the colonial city of Guanajuato, about
four hours north of Mexico City. Nestled in a wrinkled
valley, Guanajuato boasts a spectacularly colorful and
gravity-defying architecture. With a population of
150,000, Guanajuato remains a conservative and provincial
city; however, it is intellectually richer and more diverse
than one might expect, thanks in large part to the vibrant
presence of the Universidad de Guanajuato.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
CIEE is organizing a 14 day, 13 night program for The
Citadel from May 17-29th, 2015 based in Mexico City and
Guanajuato, Mexico. Dr. Brian Norris, Assistant Professor
within the Department of Criminal Justice, will lead
and provide all instruction for the program. CIEE will
provide academic, logistical, and emergency support for
the program.
