Program Description

COURSE OFFERINGS

Students will earn 6 hours worth of transfer credit and will choose from the following list of courses:

SPAN 102 - Elementary Spanish Communication II - 3 credits
SPAN 203 - - 3 credits
SPAN 204 - - 3 credits
SPAN 302 - Advanced Spanish Composition - 3 credits
SPAN 450 - Special Topics: Introduction to Mexican Culture - 3 credits
SPAN 450 - Special Topics: Mexican Society - 3 credits

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Students will spend 4 weeks in Playa del Carmen, Mexico studying Spanish. The program is offered by the Department of Modern Languages in conjunction with don Quijote. Students will experience the Mexican lifestyle while alternating excursions, courses, and time spent with their host family. Students will participate in classes at don Quijote Playa del Carmen, which is located just 6 blocks from white sandy beaches. Students will learn Spanish in this open architecture with a relaxing and inviting atmosphere that encourages intensive Spanish immersion.

-Students will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities:
*Playa del Carmen city tour
*Mexican cooking classes
*Exploring the local market
*Mayan culture and history class
