PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

This program includes a dynamic, interesting and fun leisure program to complement the process of learning the Spanish language. On this program, students will stay with a host family for the duration of their stay in Peru. Staying with a host family is a great way to immerse yourself into the culture of Peru. You will learn traditional customs and the family way of life. This opportunity is particularly excellent for practicing your Spanish skills. Students will also be exposed to the Peruvian culture through a variety of different cultural activities throughout the program.

The program will take place in the city of Cuzco, a beautiful and colorful city with well preserved colonial architecture, evidence of a rich and complex history of the Incan Empire. The city itself represents the center of indigenous Quechua culture in the Andes, and by merely walking the streets one sees the layers of history. Cuzco is also a Unesco World Heritage Site. The area offers an amazing variety of experiences for adventure. The don Quijote Spanish language school is located in a colonial building just one short block from Cuzco's main square, Plaza de las Armas. The school building includes 25 classrooms of varying sizes, a very spacious meeting room, and a sunny terrace.

-Students will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities:
*Excursion to Machu Pichu
*Overnight trip to Aguas Calientes
*Peruvian Cooking Classes
*Salsa Dance Class
*River Rafting
*Zip-Lining
*Attend a Shaman Ceremony
*Visit to ancient ruins near Cuzco
*Stay with a Peruvian Host Family
