Program Description

We will use the letter to the Romans as an entry point to look at its reception, effect, and broader Italian history/culture.

1. Understand the Letter to the Romans
2. Grow in knowledge of Roman and Italian history
3. Understand the interaction between the two

DAY 1
DEPART USA

Depart for your greatly anticipated flight to Italy

DAY 2
ARRIVE IN ROME
Transfer to your hotel
Enjoy a welcome dinner

DAY 3
ROME
Visit Vatican Museums with Sistine Chapel, St. Peter Basilica, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain Pantheon, and Navona Sp.

DAY 4
IMPERIAL ROME
Tour Imperial Rome with Baths of Caracalla, the Circus Maximus, Palatine Hill, Colosseum, Arch of Titus, Arch of Constantine, St. Peter in Chains, Capitolium, and Piazza Venezia

DAY 5
ROME TO FLORENCE
Depart to Florence
Stop in Assisi for a visit of Basiclica of St. Francis and Basilica Santa Maria Degli Angeli
Continue to Florence

DAY 6
FLORENCE
Enjoy a morning walking tour of Florence including Accademia Gallery, Duomo, Battistero, Giotto’s Tower, Ponte Vecchio, and Santa Croce
Visit the Accademia to admire Michelangelo’s works

DAY 7
PISA AND LUCCA
Enjoy the beauty of Lucca
Travel to Pisa and see the Leaning Tower
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Pisa’s Campo dei Miracoli

TUSCANY
Travel by bus to Tuscany and ecplore Tuscan culuter and a cooking class
