COURSE OFFERINGS In Estonia, each student enrolls in two courses: 1. Estonian Foreign and Security Policy with Russia and the Baltic Sea Region 2. Estonian Cyber Security Issues Note: Students will earn 6 credits by participating in this program. Courses are cross-listed, allowing students flexibility in course selection. Graduate course sections are also included. Courses are prefixed either PSCI or INTL depending upon the needs of the student for degree completion. Courses are generally numbered as Special Topics in that particular Department for the set course on Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Courses are numbered undergrad for undergrads; grad for grads. *Each course includes lectures and site visits in the country. *Students are expected to bring a binder, laptop, and take notes. *Actual work on the course by the student is accomplished at the end of the term after departure from the country. *Each student will be required to write one shorter paper (3-5 pages) and one longer paper (7-10 pages) and in each course based on general questions in the syllabus which is presented before the program. *Each paper is written from class notes and a series of monographs from think tanks provided online. *Grad student papers are a few pages longer than the undergrad courses. *Undergrads are graded based on their understanding of the topics and grad students more on their analysis of the situation (just like all undergrad and grad courses in the field). *Students are given 1 month to complete the papers for both courses. If in both courses, they have a total of 1 1/2 months for delivery of final reports PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Given its strategic location and role in worldwide cybersecurity (it houses NATO’s Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence), Estonia may be among the most exciting countries in Europe.
