COURSE OFFERINGS

FREN 201- Intermediate French Communication - 3 credits
FREN 202 -French Reading, Conversation, and Composition - 3 credits
FREN 390 - Special Topics in Contemporary French Culture - 3 credits
FREN 391- Special Topics in Contemporary French Usage - 3 credits
FREN 450-Undergraduate Seminar: Studies in Special Topics - 3 credits

Student Learning Outcomes:
-Students will enhance their French language skills on this program through both class as well as living with a local host family. Opportunities to immerse themselves in French culture are plentiful for students participating in this program.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

On this program, students will take classes at the Institut Linguistique du Peyrou in Montpellier. Students take a placement exam upon arrival and are placed according to their level in small classes with students from all over the world. In addition to the classes, the Institut also offers guided excursions to historical and cultural sites throughout the region.

-Students will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities:
*Stay with host family in Montpellier
*Study at Institut Linguistique du Peyrou among international students from all across the globe
*Excursions to various historical and cultural sites within France including:
*Arles: Roman arena from the 1st century A.D. and sites associated with artist Vincent Van Gogh
*Avignon: Visit to the Papal Palace and nearby Roman sites
*Carcassonne: Historic fortified city and UNESCO World Heritage Centre
