Program Description

COURSE OFFERINGS

PSYC 403: Psychology of Learning - 3 credit hours
PSYC 463: Study Abroad: Peruvian Amazon - 3 credit hours


*Students will earn 6 credits from the above-mentioned course offerings


PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Students will have the opportunity to travel to Iquitos, Peru, which is known as the capitol of the Peruvian Amazon. Three of the four weeks of this program will be spent in Iquitos, Peru. Additionally, students will spend one week in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle, one of the most widely diverse locations in the world. Led by Dr. Audrey Parrish, students will earn 6-credit hours with a focus on psychological and biological perspectives relevant to this area.

Dr. Parrish has conducted research at this Amazon site, led by Dr. Paul Beaver with Amazon Expeditions, which has also hosted Winthrop University biology students for the past 10+ years.
