COURSE OFFERINGS SPAN 102 - Elementary Spanish Communication II - 3 credits SPAN 201 - Intermediate Spanish Communication - 3 credits SPAN 202 - Spanish Conversation, Reading, and Composition - 3 credits SPAN 302 - Advanced Spanish Composition - 3 credits SPAN 450 - Undergraduate Seminar: Studies in Special Topics - 3 credits Student Learning Outcomes: -To improve students’ linguistic and cultural competency in the target language and culture. -To help students become more rounded students and citizens. -Increase students’ understanding of themselves and others as global citizens. -Further develop students’ critical thinking skills. -Equip students with strategies that will help them grow their leadership skills and interaction with diverse populations. -Cultivate students’ cultural awareness. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Students will spend 4 weeks in Spain They will take classes in the morning and in the afternoon they will have free time to engage in other extra-curricular activities or meet other students. Students will live with families in the city of Cadiz and will enjoy the beautiful U of Cadiz campus, nestled in a corner of the peninsula, right across the Atlantic Ocean. The city of Cadiz is an architectural jewel. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe, founded by the Phoenicians circa 1,100 B.C.The program includes also some excursions so the students will have the chance to explore different areas and gain a better understanding of the rich history and culture of Spain. -Students will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities: *Excursions Tarifa, Ronda, and Seville (possibly more) *Visits to various museums and cultural sites *Extracurricular activities offered through the University: Dancing, Cooking, etc. PROGRAM DIRECTORS Dr. Silvia M.
