The Citadel in DC Program is a 10-week academic and internship program. Students will be living at a host university in DC, interning at various locations around the city and experiential learning about DC through interdisciplinary coursework. Cadets earn a total of 6 course credits during the 10-week program; 3 credits of a cross-curricular, experiential learning; 3 credits towards an internship. The Citadel in DC Program is supported by The Citadel Club of Greater Washington, D.C. Our partnership with alumni provides students with the opportunities to engage in their professional development, as well as, shadow and network with alumni and gain valuable career advice. Internship (6 academic Credits) The internship is an opportunity to gain real-world experience, engage professionally and to open future opportunities in a competitive market through networking and professional development. While the Citadel Career Center supports all applicants with leads and connections, students are responsible for being very active in the internship application process including developing resumes and other application documents, applying to and following up with employers and engaging in the competitive interview processes 2016 -2017 Internships included: US Senate (Tim Scott and Democratic Cloakroom) DC Metropolitan Police Department of Homeland Security Fall Church Arts General Dynamic Information Technology Institute of World Politics Leidos National Waste and Recycling Assoc. North American National Industrial Sand Assoc. Pentafit - Corporate Wellness The Office of The Provost Marshall Academic Coursework (3 academic credits) The 3hr interdisciplinary course focuses on assessing, analyzing & acting upon visual information. Taught online and at various DC locations (on 5 Saturdays), students sharpen visual perception, intelligence gathering and communication skills.
